Monte Xanic, Sauvignon Blanc, Vina Krystel, 2016 – Case
Monte Xanic has been producing wine in the Valle de Guadalupe since the late 1980s, making them one of the older wineries in this now-booming region. Monte Xanic wines have been witness to history in Mexico – their Chardonnay was the wine used to toast the signing of NAFTA in 1992, and Gran Ricardo was served at a dinner in Mexico to honor Pope John Paul II. With meticulous winemaking practices and an attitude of continuous improvement, the Monte Xanic wines are some of the most awarded and well known in the Valle.
This Sauvignon Blanc is unoaked, with bright acidity, and aromatic. With some tropical guava, grapefruit, and lime zest layered on an underlying bed of fresh green herbs, this bottle straddles the divide between Sancerre and Marlborough styles of the variety.
